1.Legal Commitment

Skew Realty is fully committed to operating in accordance with all applicable laws of the Republic of Ghana and relevant international standards, including the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and, where applicable, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
This Legal Policy outlines Skew Realty’s legal responsibilities and compliance measures to ensure that all data processing, communications, and service operations are carried out lawfully, fairly, and transparently.

2.Compliance with Ghana’s Data Protection Act (Act 843)

Skew Realty acknowledges and upholds the key principles established under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), which governs the collection, storage, and use of personal data.
Under this law, Skew Realty ensures that:

  • Personal data is processed lawfully and securely, respecting the privacy of the individual (Section 17).

  • Only necessary and relevant information is collected (Section 19).

  • Data is collected for specific and legitimate purposes, and not used beyond its original intent (Section 22).

  • Records are retained only for as long as required for the stated purpose (Section 24).

  • Information remains accurate and up to date (Section 26).

  • Individuals have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal information (Sections 32–35).
    Regandren has registered its data-handling practices with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana and maintains ongoing compliance through regular audits and employee awareness training.


3. Compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

For users and clients within the European Union or the European Economic Area, Skew Realty adheres to the principles and obligations set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
In compliance with Articles 5 to 23, Skew Realty ensures that:

  • Personal data is processed with lawfulness, fairness, and transparency (Article 5).

  • Data is collected for specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes and limited to what is necessary.

  • Appropriate technical and organisational measures are in place to protect data against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss.

  • Individuals (data subjects) have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port their personal data (Articles 15–20).

  • International transfers of data outside the EU are conducted only under lawful conditions, with adequate safeguards in place (Chapter V).


4.Transparency and Legal Cooperation

Skew Realty cooperates fully with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana and relevant supervisory authorities within the European Union to ensure that all data handling and corporate operations remain legally compliant.
The company maintains clear and accurate documentation of its data-processing activities in accordance with Section 27 of the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and Article 30 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

5.Security and Legal
Accountability

Skew Realty implements administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all data under its control. These safeguards comply with Section 28 of Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and Article 32 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which require appropriate measures to protect against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction, or damage of data.
In addition, all employees, contractors, and partners are bound by confidentiality obligations and receive compliance training to uphold Skew Realty’s legal and ethical standards.

 

6.Legal Updates and Amendments

This Legal Policy will be reviewed periodically to reflect changes in Ghanaian law, applicable EU regulations, or Skew Realty’s operational practices. Any updates will be published promptly, and the “Last Updated” date will indicate the most recent revision.
